Top Excuses I Hear from Thieves and Rule Breakers

1.EVERY1 DOSE IT!!!!!111!!!
This one is never well written... Just because other people do it doesn't make it okay. If it's against the rules I will report it. I don't care who you are or who else is doing it. If you give me examples I'll report them to. After all, if crazy people started shooting other people in the face would you start doing it too? Apparently koaumae5918 has seen "Well everyone steals! We're stealing the alphabet!" I've seen this one as well...No. No it doesn't work that way stupid.

2. UR STOOPID. UR A TROLL.
This one isn't an excuse, but I hear it a lot. It's never well written either... Me or anyone else reporting you doesn't make us trolls. We aren't harassing you. We're trying to show you what you've done wrong so you don't get banned, suspended, or reprimanded.

3. You aren't a mod! You can't report me!
DA relies on members to report people. The mods can't catch anyone so it is our responsibility as members to know and help enforce the rules by reporting rule breakers. I can report anyone who is breaking the rules..

4. I'LL REPORT U!
You can't report someone for reporting you. Reporting is not harassing. Reporting is not trolling. False reporting is spamming and is a bannable offense. Stop bawwing and read the rules.

5. I drew this!
Really bro? You drew this ? Trust me anyone can tell what someone has and hasn't created themselves. Most people who steal have really horrible art next to really great art. One of these things is not like the other...

6. I didn't know!
Ignorance is no excuse. When you sign up you click a pretty little button that says "I have read and agree to the deviantART Tern of Service and Etiquette Policy". That says you read it and even if you say you didn't you were supposed to so there is no excuse.

7. I'm just borrowing it!
Okay this one is just bullshit. Unless you have explicit permission to post something you can post it. I have permission to post this , for example.If you can't prove you have permission then you don't have permission.

8. You don't have proof!
Oh yes I do~. SatFat does not report without proof. Take this picture, for example: this It's a lovely photo of cherry blossoms. I looked it up on tineye.com and found 18 matches and found hundreds of pages of matches on google. I have proof when I report you. If it's a celebrity photos I have proof. If it's a screenshot it's all too easy to cite the source.

9. It's fanart so I can do it!
Fanart is a drawing, painting, or story you've created completely on your own with no tracing or using non-stock images. This is fan art.. Posting this or any part of this is stealing.

10. I'm only 8/9/10/11/12!
I've actually been told this! First off age doesn't matter. If you can read you can follow rules. Toddlers can follow rules! Also if you're under 13 I will report you. If you even say it in joking I will take you seriously and report you.

Oh yeah. I'm so jealous of this . I am not jealous of you or your "art". I can't draw, sure, but I am a photographer so it doesn't matter. This is a side account and that insult doesn't bother me at all.

Ohlawd... This is probably the dumbest one. I don't care about your fandom. I don't care what you like. I don't care who you are. I will report anything that breaks the rules. My favorite thing is Dragon Age and I will report anyone stealing Dragon Age related things. I don't like fantards. There is nothing wrong with being a big fan, but fantards ruin everything. I don't care if you like furries with three toes, tentacles, Sonic spikes, Pokeballs for ears, and Edward Cullen for a tail like this. You can like whatever you want, but if you have fanart of it and it breaks the rules I'll report you. Get over it.

No you don't. Shut up. I've also heard "My aunt is totally the highest up person on DA and she let me and if you don't leave me alone she'll ban you!"

14. Well...I know the creator! They gave me permission!
So...Some kid from Fuckall, USA personally knows the creator of say...Pokemon and got permission from him to use screenshots of the anime? Idiot.

15. You don't have a subscription so you're jelly!
I have to say that this one is pretty damn creative and I've only heard it once! But really? Jealous over a subscription I could buy for myself (but are too cheap to buy...)? No...No not really. I'm not a Deviantard. Remember, fatards make everything worse and suggesting I'm jealous because you have a subscription and only report people with subscriptions just shows you don't do your research before insulting people. It's not like The List is full of non subscribers of anything. /sarcasm

16. UR STEALIN 2!
Now thieves usually site the following as stolen: this, this, this, or this. Clearly I'm trying to steal from these people who have given me permission to post these and who I can easily prove have given me permission... I even had someone try to say I plagiarized this...Lolwhut?

17. If you report me I'll kill myself!!!!!!!
...Well I've already reported you so get to cutting... Now, I don't condone killing yourself or anything, but seriously? If you kill yourself because UR ARTZ are being reported for a valid reason you had deeper problems and/or just want attention and sympathy.

18.You don't have permission to report me/look at my gallery/be on my profile/blahblahblah.
Um...Yes I do. xD All profiles are completely public and if I want to I can stare at your profile and anything in it for as long as I want and if I find something reportable I will report you...Sure you can block me, but I can still see everything that is going on and I can still report you! Yay!

As ep1cshad0w suggested, yes I will. When people make new accounts they almost always try to troll or bother me or they post it right on their old account. Maybe they'll post it on a friends account as if I won't be looking through their friend's gallery to see if they have something to report...Afterall, thieves stick together. Plus, making a new account is ban evasion and is an automatic ban!
